Where Your Money Goes

We're a volunteer-run organisation with minimal overheads. That means the vast majority of what you give is spent directly on our charitable work. Here's a rough idea of what different amounts can achieve:

£10

Covers printing costs for a set of resource guides distributed to newly diagnosed families.

£25

Pays for refreshments and activity supplies at a monthly parent support group meeting.

£50

Funds a BSL taster session for families, including tutor fees and materials.

£100

Helps cover venue hire and a BSL interpreter for one of our larger community events.

How to Donate

Bank Transfer

You can make a donation directly to our charity account. Please email [email protected] for our bank details, and include your name as the payment reference so we can acknowledge your gift.

Cheque

Cheques should be made payable to "Croydon Deaf Children's Society" and posted to our Croydon office (contact us for the mailing address).

At Events

We accept cash donations at our events and activities. Many of our events also include a raffle or a small fundraising element.

Gift Aid

If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you. When you make a donation, let us know that you'd like to Gift Aid it and we'll send you a simple declaration form.

Other Ways to Help

Money isn't the only way to support us. You might also consider:

  • Fundraising — organise a bake sale, a sponsored walk, or a collection at work. We can provide materials and ideas. Get in touch if you'd like to fundraise on our behalf.
  • Volunteering — your time is just as valuable as money. Visit our volunteer page to see how you can get involved.
  • Spreading the word — tell other families about us. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is make sure a parent who's just received their child's diagnosis knows that support is available.
  • Amazon Smile / EasyFundraising — register us as your chosen charity and we'll receive a small donation every time you shop online. It costs you nothing.

Corporate Support

If your company has a charity of the year scheme, a community fund, or a matched giving programme, we'd welcome the chance to be considered. We're happy to provide information about our work, attend selection panels, or give a short presentation. Please contact us to start the conversation.

Thank You

We're genuinely grateful for every donation we receive. The charity depends on the generosity of people like you, and we don't take it for granted. If you'd like to learn more about our work before donating, have a look at our about page or browse our resource guides to see the kind of material your support helps us produce.
